8 Ink Media aims to become the specialist research resource on the youth market of South Africa. Already the UrbanScout™ programme offers a unique vehicle for continuously monitoring and communicating with the teen market. This programme focuses on 4 000 girls between the ages of 13 and 25 years.
Finally, the launch of National Geographic Kids (NGK) will extend the reach of our research into the South African kids market. NGK - which has a strong research focus - will provide a vehicle for continuously monitoring and communicating with the kids market. The focus of this programme will be boys and girls aged between 6-14 years.
8 Ink Media plans to establish a relationship with the NGK readers, which will survive into their teens. It is hoped that many of these readers will naturally graduate to the UrbanScout™ programme.
On the whole, we believe that the publication of NGK and seventeen - and their associated research programmes - places 8 Ink Media in a unique position to offer continuous and in-depth information on the South African youth market that is currently not available elsewhere.
