SEVENTEEN REVEALS SA’S TOP TEEN ACHIEVERS29 January 2010
Seventeen magazine played host to the Top Teen Achiever Awards held at The Venue in Melrose Arch on 14 December 2009.
The annual competition sponsored by Standard Bank in association with Sistahood on e.tv had fifteen of SA’s top teen girls waiting in anticipation to hear who the winners were in the six categories.
Khwezi Magwaza, editor of seventeen said, "What a spectacular event – the crowd, the atmosphere and the entertainment was electric! The announcement of the six winners was certainly the highlight of the evening and their accomplishments were awe-inspiring. We wish all the winners including the finalists all the very best with their future goals.”
The Top Teen Awards went to the following girls: Miss Independent: Leah Chuene, 17, from Polokwane; Gold Medallist: Dominique Dryding, 16, from Cape Town; Do-Gooder: Hannah-Rose Smith, 15, from Cape Town; Next Big Thing: Tershalya Pillay, 16, from Durban; Green Queen: Chelsea Tucker, 16, from Johannesburg; Reader’s Choice: Suné Gerber, 17, from Pretoria.
Incredible prizes were up for grabs by all the winners including a R10 000 cash prize from Standard Bank, a Hip Hop designer dress, Shoe HQ vouchers, Terenzo hair styling, Cosmic Options and SMAC accessories, a Billabong hamper, a Sissy Boy hamper, a Sloggi underwear hamper, VonZipper sunglasses, a Neutrogena hamper, a Fossil watch, a year’s subscription to seventeen and M.A.C hampers. The winner of Reader’s Choice award won R5 000 from Standard Bank including the above sponsored gifts.
