Seventeen was launched in SA, by 8 Ink Media under licence from Hearst International. It is published monthly and retails for R24.95. The average age of the reader is 17, but so as to have an aspirational appeal, she "lives the life" of a young adult of 20. Seventeen is a real girl-world guide and offers advice, tips and information about fashion, beauty, health, relationships, love, celebrities and real life issues.

Seventeen SA currently enjoys a print run in excess of 60 000 copies with an urban distribution footprint that sees it on sale at all major retailers and newsagents throughout South Africa. The magazine is supported by innovative and tactical marketing activities, aimed at building an intimate and rewarding relationship with readers and advertisers.
